VEGF DETECTION BIOSENSOR

The VEGF protein is released in high quantities from proliferating cancer tissue. Quantitative measurement of VEGF can provide information as to the size and growth rate of brain tumors in patients with leptomeningeal carcinomatosis (LC). One of PKC’s current products is a Metronomic Biofeedback Pump (MBP) that is designed for the personalized delivery of chemotherapeutic drugs to the tumor location of LC patients. The MBP will integrate the PKC Biosensor for real-time detection of VEGF levels in the CSF, allowing the pump to gauge tumor activity, and respond with an optimized drug delivery regimen. Utilization of our rapid detection PKC Biosensor makes personalized drug delivery and therapeutics a reality.
