Pharmaco-Kinesis Corporation is a high technology medical device company that aims to optimize healing of the human body through proprietary local Smart Drug Delivery Systems™ (SDDS) and associated advanced devices to measure biological responses.

Our lead product is the Metronomic Biofeedback Pump (MBP), a potentially revolutionary device in the field of local drug delivery that uses advanced micro-fluidic, diagnostic and control mechanisms to deliver a variable, remotely programmable, metronomic combination of tumor fighting medications within one implantable system. In our first planned application, the MBP is expected to be a significant leap forward in the treatment of brain cancer.

Several additional technologies are under development, most prominently our Smart Brain Retractor™ (SBR), a surgical retractor assembly for brain surgery that has an embedded sensor array to detect and predict local electrophysiological conditions such as electroencephalographic signal, pressure beneath the retractor blade and temperature activity of the tissue. The SBR is expected to provide early warning on the viability of the underlying tissue during brain surgery in order to avoid the potentially fatal damage to the brain that is common due to use of standard brain retractors during surgery.

In addition, PKC has a number of product technologies for which patents have been filed or are under development, including a VEGF BioSensor™, which is a novel, solid-state biosensor for label-free detection of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and an Intelligent Interbody Fusion Device, an implanted device for controlled, local delivery of BMP-2, a medication that promotes bone growth following spinal surgery.
