PKC was Founded by Josh Shachar, Frank Adell and Eli Gang, M.D. Josh Shachar a visionary, brilliant mathematician, highly successful entrepreneur, prolific inventor with numerous world class patents, founder of two US military manufacturing and contracting corporations and a medical robotic company. Through his work at Lawrence National Laboratory, Josh has a commanding understanding of the use of magnetic guidance for high energy particle accelerator beams.  Frank Adell, who has twenty five years of experience in founding, guiding, and developing innovative high technology firms from the conceptual stage through to commercialization, and Eli Gang,  a prominent electro-physiologist with extensive connections in the medical industry and a comprehensive understanding of the global medical device industry and of major players in it.  Josh, Frank, and Eli recognized the opportunity to fill unmet needs for medical devices that optimize healing through the development and application of smart local drug delivery systems.

In 2007 they were joined by Dr. Thomas Chen, M.D., a noted neuro-surgeon and director of Neuro-Oncology at the University of Southern California, who supports the development team’s focus on products related to fighting brain tumors and healing spine injuries.  The PKC engineering team is headed by Dr. Winston Wu, Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, who serves as Senior Scientist and Project Manager with considerable expertise in the fields of biomedical informatics, mobile biomedical platforms, embedded network sensing, and body area networks.
