Biography
Dr. Adrin Gharakhani is the founder and CEO of Applied Scientific Research, Santa Ana, CA; a scientific software R&D company focusing on the development and commercialization of highly advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics tools based upon the relatively new paradigm of "meshless" computing. Since he founded the company in 1998, Dr. Gharakhani has received multiple grants and contracts from DOE labs, NSF, NIH and NASA to develop his unique flow simulation technology, which provides order-of-magnitude reduction in problem set up time to the user.
Dr. Gharakhani has 26 years of experience in fluid dynamics, and heat and mass transfer, including three years of teaching at California State University, Northridge. Prior to starting his company, Dr. Gharakhani was a Post-Doctoral Fellow and Research Scientist at the Reacting Gas Dynamics Lab at M.I.T. ['95 to '98]; Research Assistant at M.I.T. ['90 to '95]; Member of Technical Staff III/IV at Rocketdyne, researching combustion processes associated with the Space Shuttle Main Engine ['87 to '90]; Research Engineer at Energy and Environmental Research ['85 to '87]; and Project Engineer responsible for development-through-manufacturing of disposable surgical products at Shiley, Pfizer ['82 to '85]. He received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine ('85), and his Sc.D. in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T. ('95) with a minor in Applied Mathematics. He is a Member of ASME, ASAIO, and a Senior Member of AIAA. |
